2,700+ Connected Medical Devices. 99.9% Uptime. Zero Shortcuts on Compliance.
Plumma builds and runs software for connected medical devices at scale. We're the evolution of LogConsulting (Bologna, founded 1999), which means our team has been working on this kind of software for over 25 years, on AWS cloud infrastructure, with real deployments in regulated environments.
If your devices generate data that matters — patient vitals, sterilization cycles, gas levels, usage patterns — we help you turn that data into something your team can actually use in real time.
What We Do
- Cloud-native architecture on AWS
- Real-time IoT device monitoring and data streaming
- Dashboards that make sensor data usable, not just visible
- Compliance-ready infrastructure: GDPR, audit trails, role-based access
- Fast development cycles through proven low-code tooling

Sterilization and sedation equipment for dental practices — modernized end to end.
The Challenge
Tecnogaz manufactures sterilization and sedation equipment that dental practices rely on for precise monitoring of gas levels and sterilization cycles. Their documentation was still running on paper, quality control had real bottlenecks, and there was no way to see equipment performance in real time. Customer support was resource-intensive because nobody could see a problem until a customer called about it.
“Manual processes were creating significant bottlenecks, while our customers increasingly requested better equipment monitoring capabilities.”
— Operations Manager, TecnogazOur Approach
We designed and built an AWS-native IoT ecosystem: AWS IoT Core and SQS for device connectivity and message handling, Timestream and RDS for time-series and operational data, ElastiCache for real-time performance. On top of that, four independently deployable microservices — Gateway, Steam IoT (sterilization), Flux IoT (medical gas), and a Support Portal — each with its own database and business logic, load-balanced on Elastic Beanstalk.
- Real-time monitoring of sterilization cycles and medical gas systems, with automated digital certificates
- Native iOS and Android apps with offline operation and push notifications
- GDPR-compliant, multilayer integration across device, service, and data layers
- Delivered through a rapid, low-code development approach to compress what would normally be an 18–24 month build
The Results
Complete digital documentation with audit trails replaced the paper process. Four years into production, the platform still runs 24/7 with a 15-minute average support response time.

Patented ECG-sensing fabric, turned into a clinical-grade monitoring platform.
The Challenge
AccYouRate had patented polymer sensor technology that turns clothing into a medical-grade monitoring device, capturing ECG, respiratory patterns, skin temperature, and motion at 250Hz. What they didn't have were the dashboards to make that data actionable for healthcare organizations. Traditional development of that kind of clinical software would normally take 18–24 months and a specialized healthcare software team.
Our Approach
We built six healthcare applications, deployed as responsive micro frontends on AccYouRate's AWS cloud infrastructure:
- Real-time ECG monitoring with zoom, scroll, and clinical annotation
- Respiratory curve analysis that filters motion artifacts and flags anomalies
- Configurable alert management across heart rate, respiration, temperature, and fall detection
- Multi-parameter dashboards unifying ECG, respiratory, temperature, and motion data
- Historical analytics with export for external medical analysis tools
- Role-based user and session management, built GDPR-compliant from day one
The Results
The Italian Red Cross deployment generated one of the largest historical ECG time-series datasets assembled in a real-world setting — and gave AccYouRate a platform story that opened emergency response, clinical research, and enterprise health markets simultaneously.

The infrastructure behind this deployment was documented in a peer-reviewed, open-access paper published in Sensors (MDPI), co-authored by our team with Alessandro Orro (CNR Institute of Biomedical Technologies) and collaborators. It describes the cloud architecture used to remotely track vital signs of 900 paramedics and emergency workers over a 12-month period.

One Gateway to the Mobile Network
Our own SaaS platform — not a client project, built and run by Plumma.
What It Is
Plumma Connect is our API aggregation platform, built on the GSMA Open Gateway standard. It gives enterprises a single integration point to access real-time mobile network intelligence — identity, security, and 5G network capabilities — from multiple operators, instead of building and maintaining separate connections one by one.
Why We Built It
Every mobile operator exposes its network capabilities differently. For an enterprise that wants to verify a phone number, detect SIM-swap fraud, or check device location, integrating operator by operator means duplicating engineering work for every market it enters. Plumma Connect collapses that into one API, one contract, one integration.
Key Facts
- Built on the GSMA Open Gateway standard
- Unifies Identity, Security, and 5G network APIs across operators
- One integration point instead of per-operator connections
- Runs on the same AWS cloud-native architecture behind our IoT and healthcare platforms
Digitizing Carbon Farming in Viticulture
An EU LIFE Programme project helping wineries measure, certify, and trade soil carbon.
What It Is
LIFE VitiCaSe ("Viticulture for Soil Organic Carbon Sequestration") is an EU LIFE Programme project (Grant No. 101113620, roughly €2.2M total budget) working with wineries in Tuscany and Veneto to adopt carbon-farming practices that increase soil carbon capture and cut greenhouse gas emissions. The consortium is led by Image Line, together with CREA research centers, three pilot wineries — Castello di Albola, Tenute Ruffino, and Società Agricola San Felice — Carbon Credits Consulting, and EZ Lab.
What Plumma Built
Plumma built the digital platform behind the project's carbon accounting: a computerized, certifiable system for estimating soil carbon stock, a database documenting agronomic practices across the pilot vineyards, and the data layer feeding blockchain-based notarization of the resulting carbon credits.
Key Facts
- EU LIFE Programme project, Grant No. 101113620
- Active in Tuscany and Veneto, across 3 pilot wineries
- Computerized, certifiable soil carbon stock estimation
- Blockchain-notarized carbon credits
Why It Matters
Building medical-grade software from scratch takes time and carries real compliance risk. Our infrastructure and processes are already proven in the field, which means shorter development cycles without cutting corners on security or compliance.
You bring the hardware or the domain expertise. We bring the platform that makes it usable, scalable, and compliant.
Let's talk about what you're building.
